The Sunhill Project in Glen Iris, Victoria, beckons you inside to a home that has been gently crafted to create a sanctuary. The creation of this tranquil retreat was a result of the collaboration of husband and wife team, Joel (Orbis Constructions) and Nala Ryan (Nala Design) together with Archtisitc building design and Acre landscape architecture.

Phoenix tapware was specified throughout the spaces. The refined Australian design of the Phoenix products contribute to the timeless experience of Sunhill. Nala and Joel continue to turn to Phoenix for their work. “The importance of a local supplier with an in-house design team, a stone’s throw away, that offers a collection of timeless and functional fixtures can never be underestimated,” Nala explains. “The vast array of form and finishes makes Phoenix an adaptable collaborator in our process, featuring in both our classic and contemporary projects.”

The kitchen sink mixer (Phoenix Prize Flexible Coil Sink Mixer) becomes a statement piece on the gently curved island bench. Nala chose the Prize Sink Mixer for its versatility; in that, it instantly performs a hose function with the handpiece detaching from the cradle for extended reach. Prize discretely presents itself as a minimalist mixer when the closed coil spring is placed in its holder.

Throughout the bathrooms, Phoenix Vivid Slimline Up Shower/Wall Mixers have been installed. With their upward stretching lever handles and streamlined appearance, Vivid Slimline Up epitomizes elegance in a durable, timeless design. This works perfectly in Phoenix’s Brushed Nickel finish, complementing the diffused natural light that infiltrates the space.

Nala chose the Phoenix Brushed Nickel finish throughout the home. This finish is characterised by its warm, soft metallic appearance and brushed lines on its surface. It is a subtle look that pairs beautifully with the design elements seen throughout this home; dark Elba stone, soft grey, and American oak cabinetry along with rendered cement walls. The organic and textural nature of these finishes works beautifully with the gentle statement that the Brushed Nickel finish brings to complement Nala’s designs.
