CAN PHOENIX MIXERS AND SHOWERS BE USED WITH INSTANTANEOUS HOT WATER SYSTEMS (INCLUDING SOLAR)?

Please check with the hot water manufacturer prior to installing your mixers or showers.

I HAVE A GRAVITY FEED HOT WATER UNIT, CAN I USE A PHOENIX MIXER AND HAND SHOWER?

No, all Phoenix mixers and hand showers require a minimum water pressure of 150 kpa in order to work efficiently. We recommend using jumper valve tapware only; please speak to our friendly customer service team for products best suited to your need.

ARE THERE LIMITATIONS ON THE TAPWARE YOU CAN BUY FOR HIGH PRESSURE WATER SYSTEM?

Yes, there are limitations. The standard pressure in Australian homes fluctuates between 150 kpa and 500 kpa, however some homes have water pressure as high as 1000kpa, this will depend on the area in which you live. Speak to your plumber to find out if your area has high water pressure or visit your nearest plumbing supply store to speak to one of the salespeople about what your best options will be. Alternatively you could speak to your local water authority, about your high water pressure.

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE HIGH WATER PRESSURE?

Call a licensed plumber, there are a number of options your plumber can take to correct unequal pressure, like a pressure compensating valve.

I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A WALL MIXER SET, CAN I REVERSE THIS PRODUCT?

No, all wall mixer sets are designed for left hand spout, right hand mixer use only.

CAN PHOENIX TAPS BE USED WITH LOW AND HIGH WATER PRESSURE?

Yes, Phoenix taps can be used with both low and high water pressure if the pressure is no less than 150 kpa and no more than 500 kpa. Should the pressure exceed 500 kpa our products can still be used as long as an approved pressure limiting device is fitted.

I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A TOWEL RAIL; CAN THIS PRODUCT BE CUT DOWN TO DIFFERENT LENGTHS?

Some do, some don’t. Please call customer service to clarify if your selected range is suitable.

I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A HEATED TOWEL LADDER; CAN THIS PRODUCT BE INSTALLED UPSIDE DOWN?

Yes, however we recommend that this product be installed the right way up.

I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A HEATED TOWEL LADDER; CAN THIS PRODUCT BE HARD WIRED?

Yes, all heated towel ladders are supplied for hard wire or power plug applications, it is essential you seek further advice from a licensed electrician if you wish to hard wire this product.

DO I NEED TO USE A SHOWER MIXER DIVERTER WITH MY TWIN SHOWER SET?

No, all Phoenix Twin Showers have a diverter included to divert water for showering to either the overhead shower or the hand held shower.

DO PHOENIX SINK MIXERS SWIVEL?

Yes, all Phoenix sink mixers swivel to suit single or double bowl sinks.

I PREFER TO HAVE A DRENCHING SHOWER. IS IT STILL POSSIBLE TO BUY A SHOWER ROSE THAT HAS A LOT OF WATER OR ARE ALL SHOWERS WATER SAVERS?

Most showers are water savers. You can now make a conscious buying decision based on the WELS star rating, the higher the star rating, the more water you save. Now shower technology means that even the most frugal 4 star showers provide a great showering experience. You can review all approved ratings for tapware via the Government WELS website www.waterrating.gov.au

DO I HAVE TO USE THE SAME BRAND OF TAPWARE TO MATCH MY EXISTING TAPS?

No. The only reason to choose the same brand would be from a design perspective, it can create a look that’s visually consistent. From a plumbing perspective the shower and taps do not need to be from the same range. For example, if you wanted to change your shower head to a water saver shower, but didn’t want to change your existing taps, this would not be a problem.

WHAT WATER SAVING TAPS DO YOU RECOMMEND?

A majority of our basin mixer ranges have a high WELS rating of 5 and 6 stars. We recommend our Gloss, Argo and Vivid Slimline collections, for the highest water saving 6 star WELS rating. In addition both our Rush basin mixer, wall outlets and sets also carry a high 6 star WELS rating.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MIXERS AND TAPS, IS ONE BETTER THAN THE OTHER?

Mixer taps have become much more popular in recent years due to both their design and function. Mixer taps use a ceramic disc cartridge technology to mix and control the flow of water, as opposed to conventional tapware which uses a rubber valve system. Conventional three piece tapware can be fitted with ceramic discs although it is not always a standard inclusion, so whether you choose mixers or taps, it all comes down to your preference.
