Sustainability
Responsible thinking flows naturally

At Phoenix, we believe innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. In everything we envision, design and manufacture, we’re considering the future of that product, and the future of our planet.

As well as our design, sustainable principles are embedded in our processes to ensure we minimise our waste and our environmental impact.

Committed to your health

New regulations in Australia mean that all products that are intended for use as an outlet for drinking water, namely tapware and mixers, will transition to lead free brass content by May 2026.  Phoenix has commenced this transition in March 2023, with all Mixers, Diverters and Wall Top Assemblies in the Cromford collection conforming with the Lead Free regulation. Our commitment to Lead Free tapware is done in the interests of public health.

Committed to a better future

The Enviro316 collection from Phoenix showcases a commitment to sustainability and innovation. With GreenTag certifications, Lead Free composition, Enviro316 sets a new standard in responsible design. From durability and water efficiency to health and ecological impact, this collection offers a conscious choice for a better future.

Committed to recycling

Product Stewardship Policy

Phoenix commits to progressing the Enviro316 Collection through to the end of its life cycle.

Should you wish to remove your Enviro316 product, contact Phoenix to arrange for options for expert removal.

Phoenix then disassembles the product and sends the parts to our third-party recyclers, Southern Cross Recycling. Your stainless steel tapware is melted down and will be re-used for a variety of purposes.

Committed to reducing emissions

We have 60 solar panels installed at our Head Office in Bayswater, Victoria. By converting sunlight into electricity we’re effectively reducing our greenhouse gas emissions.

Committed to cleaner manufacturing

By considering the composition of each component, we can do more to reduce our impact. That’s why we use ‘greener’ metals in our range of stainless steel that use less energy to manufacture, and in turn, require less energy to operate. This helps us to create a closed loop of sustainability from creation to end user.  We send all brass and metal waste to be recycled.

Committed to reducing waste

We recycle all brass shavings and waste in our own facility, and when we send a product into the market we ensure it’s packaged in
a way that can be recycled. We value the materials and energy that go into each product, and we’re proud to have created a proactive recycling culture in our workplace.

Committed to efficient products

Our products are designed to save water and reduce energy bills. We invest in flow restrictors that control the amount of water used, such as our HydroSense technology, and many of our products carry a 6 Star WELS rating. Read more about our accreditations and standards.

Committed to reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging

Phoenix is working toward the goals of the 2025 National Packaging Targets as we travel forward with our new collections.

We are planning moves such as –

  • no unnecessary single-use plastic in packaging
  • recyclable or biodegradable packaging
  • removing bubble wrap and cotton bags and replacing them with cardboard inserts and environmentally friendly fabrics

We currently pack product for delivery using recycled loose paper fill.

Committed to longevity

For us, one of the ultimate tests of sustainability is how long a product lasts. Our R&D department takes the utmost care and precision to ensure all factors are considered for durability before taking a product to market – and we back that product with a range of industry-leading warranties from one-year to a lifetime.
